I'm always interested in the world of photography just not enough guts to ever really give it a go till recently. I know that for some people a graphic designer MUST have a camera but what can i say? my college didn't offer me a photography course though i have to say i bought myself a Nikon F65 to try out. I once asked my Head principle why we didn't get a photography course, his answer was straightforward and confusing at that time "once you've become a professional graphic designer, you'll hire your self a professional photographers for the photo assignment." which i had to say at the time of listening confused the hell outta me. I fully understand it once i entered the graphic industry, i'm not implying that i'm a professional now, but so far so good for me. And that question took place 7 years a go. I never really fulfilled my enthusiasm with photography particularly with my Nikon F65 till very recently. I'm not sure when was the exact time but my lusty hunger for the photography world resurface and it came back with a vengeance! I first got myself a point and shot digital pocket Canon Ixus 70, and start snapping away then i realized i needed more, more than this, i want more, i want to know more, i want to learn more, i want to understand, this is where things start to get ugly. This last few weeks i've been researching for what camera to get, and getting some Photography books to read and taught myself, after a long wait and dilemma i decided to go for Nikon D80, no particular reason really beside i like the look and feel of the camera. And after a long browse around the net, forums and such, i decided to get a second hand for a cheaper amount though it's not really that cheaper. One fact that kinda disturbing about photography world in Indonesia is that a used cameras here cost much more than a used camera outside of Indonesia, i searched ebay, amazon, and other international forums where they got much much cheaper used cameras than here, though if combined with the shipping fee some is not that much differ but still it's cheaper. Well anyway enough of my ramblings, the next Frames will be coming out at the early May (finger crossed). So wait for it, and for the mean time let's all start praying that it will be a good issue.
Cheers,
